Coral is definitely my favourite colour for blush. It’s probably my favourite makeup item, period. Coral is one of those shades that doesn’t just vary between dark and light, it can also lean more pink or more orange, and if you add different finishes to that, you can end up with quite a lot of variations of blush that are all technically the same colour but are all very different at the same time.
Or so I tell myself.
I haven’t talked about blushes in the last three posts. That’s too long for me. So long that I needed to comeback with a blush palette, not just a single blush.
Seriously, I don’t have a problem.
This isn’t a cry for help.

I had this post thought out and lined up to go for about 3 months. My idea was to post it before winter ended. Then this blog got neglected for a little while (pregnancy, covid, yadda yadda) and I’m rushing to post this while it’s still technically spring. So enjoy this list of pastel pink blushes to sport on your cheeks for the next two weeks before we get inundated by all the bronze and coral summer blush shades.
Not a lot of makeup releases have excited me lately. I’m not sure if it’s me or if it’s just the beauty industry that is going through a lull. So when I found myself looking for something to get me giddy about this hobby again, I defaulted to my long time favourite thing: blushes.
Chanel Spring-Summer makeup collection came out and it’s been a while that I’ve been this excited about a blush. By “a while” I mean three weeks and by “excited” I mean I’ve stopped battling my conscience and just decided to buy the damn thing as soon as I saw it.
This past year Hermès expanded their beauty line and released blushes and a single highlighter, Poudre D’Orfèvre Permabrass, that is a neutral toned gold with a stunning Hermès logo embossing and a jaw dropping 98€ price tag. 98 euros for a powder that’s not white and sniffable? The audacity. I had to give it a whirl.
Here we are, Christmas Eve, and the 12 Days of Christmas finale!! I have to confess, this was a daunting task. A post everyday for 12 days in a row talking about so many favourites was really tiring. I wrote the words “smooth”, “pigmented” and “long lasting” so many times that they’ve lost all meaning. But I’ve pushed through and this project is now fully birthed. Just in time for the most famous birthday of them all.

Surprise surprise, I actually got my Pat McGrath order in time for Christmas! They’re getting better with their shipping times. I order some items from the holiday collection, Celestial Odyssey, a bit before Black Friday and it arrived early December. Thank god. Because obviously, I was in urgent need for blush.
I’m on a cheek roll, aren’t I? With the Dior blush, and the Sephora little experiment looking one, and the Louboutin palette… After getting all of those during Black Friday sales, it just made sense not to get just one more blush, but a set of 5. Well, 4. One is a highlighter.
