It’s not easy to come up with something no one has done before. I’ve been a makeup fiend for 14 years, I’ve seen just about everything, so finding a new product that’s so different I can’t figure out where to put it in my storage (along with the glitters? eyeshadows? cream bases?) and actually performs well is something to be purchased until I exhaust the entire line celebrated.
Let me introduce you to Roén Beauty and their “glitter for grown-ups”.
Clarins calls Eau Dynamisante a “treatment fragrance”. They say it’s invigorating, that it revitalises, hydrates and tones the skin. Suure…
It’s a fragrance. First ingredient alcohol, followed by water, then parfum. It perfumes skin. That’s all it is folks, a fragrance.
But a good one at that.
I haven’t talked about blushes in the last three posts. That’s too long for me. So long that I needed to comeback with a blush palette, not just a single blush.
Seriously, I don’t have a problem.
This isn’t a cry for help.
Oh, and there is an eyeshadow in this review too. Came in the same kit as the palette.
Byredo is a luxury fragrance brand that came out with a makeup line not too long ago. And unlike their generic perfume bottles, the makeup packaging does feel worthy of carrying that “luxury” tag. Their 5 pan eyeshadow palettes look like they are encased inside a golden oyster. That alone made me want to try them.
I love it when a brand gives me an excuse to spend money.
I’m a bit late to this party, I know. This highlighter was released earlier in the year, and is part of the collection made in collaboration with the popular Netflix show, Bridgerton. Just so you know, I didn’t bought it because of the show (watched 1 or 2 episodes – not for me). I’m not that superficial.
I bought it because it was pretty.
After La Mer, La Prairie, and other nicely smelling and heavily user-experience focused brands, there is a new type of luxury skincare in town: the one created by doctors. But the question remains: are they more effective? Scientific? Justified in being more expensive?… and are they made by doctors at all?
I had this post thought out and lined up to go for about 3 months. My idea was to post it before winter ended. Then this blog got neglected for a little while (pregnancy, covid, yadda yadda) and I’m rushing to post this while it’s still technically spring. There are a lot of hits and misses with Avon products in general, but damn, they can nail down a scent. I’ve mentioned before that Avon used to make my favourite scent of all time, Sweet Honesty, and finding a dupe for that has been quite an (unsuccessful) enterprise. In the meanwhile, I’ve found something different, but very good, and very unique in the realm of modern scents.
