Medik8. Here’s a brand that I came to know and instantly related to their branding, their mission and their marketing. Also, the name is sort of pun-ny, so obviously they started off on the right foot with me.
Review, Swatches, Comparison | Clarins Milky Boost Capsules in shade 03
The Clarins Milky Boost foundations review post is one of my most read posts on this blog. So when Clarins decided to add another foundation to this line, I needed to try it, to satisfy my own curiosity and to give the unique perspective of comparing the three versions: the original Milky Boost, the Milky Boost Cream and the Milky Boost Capsules.
Review, Swatches | About-Face Light Lock Powder in Stay in Bed, Fractal Glitter Eye Paint in Smolder
Here’s to another celebrity makeup brand, about-face, presented to you by singer Halsey, someone I’ve never listened to and couldn’t tell you anything about. Which is for the better, probably, because I’m all about, and only about, the makeup. Some items from the about-face line really intrigued me, and I decided to start out with their highlighters and the most appealing of their products (to me, a well known magpie): the Fractal Glitter Eye Paint.
Review, Swatches | KIKO Blossoming Beauty Romantic Shades of Face & Eyes Palette
KIKO sure knows how to come out with a pretty collection. The Blossoming Beauty collection has some gorgeous pan designs and I had to have something from this limited edition line. Since I haven’t had the chance to try a KIKO face palette yet, this was the time.
Review, Swatches | Flormar CC Cream Primers in Green and Peach
Flormar is an Italian makeup brand that has been around for a while but there are not that many reviews on it – at least not in English. And I’ve given in to their 2-for-1 deals way too many times not to contribute to the (currently lacking) online repertoire of European makeup brands reviews.
You could even say that I’m not obsessed with makeup and good deals, I’m just being altruistic. You’d be lying, but you could say it.
Top 7 | Best Coral Blushes (2022)
Coral is definitely my favourite colour for blush. It’s probably my favourite makeup item, period. Coral is one of those shades that doesn’t just vary between dark and light, it can also lean more pink or more orange, and if you add different finishes to that, you can end up with quite a lot of variations of blush that are all technically the same colour but are all very different at the same time.
Or so I tell myself.
Brand Review | JUNOCO (Clean 10 Cleansing Balm, Clarifying Cleansing Powder, Cleansing Cookie and 2% Hyaluronic Acid + Peptides Serum)
Junoco is a Californian cosmetics brand that started in 2018 and has made sustainability and simplicity their main missions. They would fall into the spectrum of “clean beauty” brands, and I haven’t been shy about what I think of that term (usually just a marketing expression profiting off of fear mongering) but I have been proven wrong in the past with brands that market themselves as being “clean” while still caring about scientifically proven efficacy and ingredients being beneficial rather than just “natural”.
So when I was contacted by Junoco about trying a few of their products, and did a little research on the brand to learn what they were about and mostly, about their formulas, I got excited.
Review, Swatches | Krash Kosmetics Khamaleon Duochrome Pressed Pigments (Detallito, No More Dates, Saca la Cartera, Ponlo a Su Cuenta)
It’s not usual to see a brand undersell their products. Krash Kosmetics needs to upgrade their marketing: these are not duochromes, these are multichromes. Inexpensive multichromes. It’s the makeup equivalent of finding a forgotten 5$ bill in the pocket of some old jeans.
Review, Swatches | KIKO Ultimate Glow Highlighter in shade 01 Champagne
This is my second KIKO review in a row. There are two more to come. You can tell they are having a sale.
KIKO has recently launched a few new products within their permanent range, and I decided to try the highlighters.
Review, Swatches | KIKO Happy B-Day, Bellezza! Colour Shock Eyeshadows in 02 Energetic Copper and 04 Stylish Taupe
I have yet to make a post about discontinued holy grail makeup products (I haven’t been able yet to overcome my rage when thinking about them), but one that would certainly make the list would be the defunct KIKO Colour Shock Long Lasting eyeshadows. My favourite shade was 03 Golden Earth, the best cream eyeshadow I’ve ever tried.
And now KIKO is re-releasing Colour Shock eyeshadows as part of the limited edition collection that celebrates their 25th birthday, with four new shades. I bought two, I tried them both, and this is the post.
