Victoria Beckham’s makeup line is one of the few influencer/celebrity brands (those seem to be sprouting all the time now) that I was intrigued enough to try out. Look and selection wise, it’s a very grown-up, polished and sophisticated line. You can take the Spice out of the Girl, but you can’t take the Posh.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Victoria Beckham Smoky Eye Brick in Tweed”
When preparing for this post, two things surprised me: there are more indie makeup brands than I thought and I have quite a lot of stuff from them; even indie brands discontinue products way too fast.Continue reading “Top 5 | Favourite Indie Makeup Products (2021)”
Every year, Clarins comes out with a limited edition bronzing compact for their summer collection. I haven’t tried any before, which is actually surprising because I’m a fan of Clarins face powders. 2021 was the year, I guess (and yes, we are all ignoring this was supposed to be a low buy year).Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Clarins Bronzing Compact Frozen Summer 2021 Collection”
I had a Sephora birthday gift card that I could use on only one product worth 30€ or less, so I went online to check what was available for 29,90€. RMS is new to Portuguese Sephora stores and the Buriti bronzer caught my eye. It’s not a new product by any means, but for some reason it’s getting some attention lately from the beauty community. Perfect for my gift card. Only thing is I wouldn’t get free shipping because I didn’t reach the 50€ minimum purchase.
Two bronzers and a foundation later, an order was placed. And here’s the review for the Buriti Bronzer.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer”
If I had to give this summer a signature lipstick colour, I would say a bright orange red. Summer makeup collections are typically filled with juicy corals and watermelon reds, but this year in particular a strong orange undertone seems to be dominating the lip scene. I’m all for it.Continue reading “Top 5 | Best Lipsticks for Summer 2021”
I’ve always been a loyal purchaser of stick foundations. They save me time in rushed mornings. Which are all of them. Because I wake up with just enough time to arrive only 5 minutes late. So a foundation that doesn’t require me to use an extra tool to apply (like a brush or sponge) goes at the top of the list of makeup I reach for in the 3 minutes I allocate to do my makeup.Continue reading “Battle of The Stick Foundations – Which one is the Best?”
Are you lazy? I know I am. It’s a sign of intelligence, according to some article in some magazine that was based on some study by I don’t know who and that I didn’t bother to check the veracity or validity of. I’m good with just getting my news from a headline when it serves me. Part of my laziness.
All of this elaborate paragraph just to make an intro to this post about cream eyeshadows, because they’re perfect if you’re in a hurry or are just, and here’s the connection, lazy. These cream shadows don’t require a tool to be applied (other than your finger for some of them), last all day and they’re all it takes for you to achieve a nice, polished eyeshadow look.Continue reading “Top 7 | Favourite Cream and Liquid Eyeshadows (2021)”
Limitless by Sephora was an online event prepared by Sephora Portugal that was supposed to happen the past 20th of June. You could get access to the event by buying a beauty box filled with goodies for 30€. When the boxes sold out, you could get the ticket for the event alone for 10€. Now, this was the first time something like this was organised by Sephora. Did I mention it was online?
You know what they say, life is what happens when bandwidth allows it.Continue reading “Limitless by Sephora: Ticket Beauty Box and My Opinion of the Event”
Makeup trends come and go, I know. But with such a saturated industry it was to be expected that here and there a few unique shades of blush would make it to the permanent line of a handful of cosmetic brands, right?! And I think there was a moment when this was true. Newly launched blush lines would have their purple, orange or bright red pop of colour. And it’s 2021 and nearly all have been discontinued.
I could rant about it until I get purple in the face, but instead I’m going to show you some (still available!) options for you to get purple in your face.Continue reading “Top Favourite Lilac and Purple Blushes (2021)”
Last year, before the pandemic derailed everything, I started a series called Makeup Log, where I posted my daily makeup looks in order to keep a record of different product combinations, so that I could find the perfect makeup look for my wedding day. Because I would be doing it myself.
With over a year of minimal makeup wear and a wedding date set to May, I should have started practicing around March. At least. But I’m a procrastinator first and a bride second, so two weeks before the date felt like enough time to me. Two days before was when I actually started.Continue reading “My Wedding Makeup”
