Review, Swatches | Victoria Beckham Posh Lipstick in Pout

When it comes to luxury makeup, Victoria Beckham takes the prizes for sophisticated packaging. I didn’t know sophistication would be a word I would use to describe packaging, but alas, here we are. Here’s to hoping what is inside is just as impressive.

The Posh lipstick in Pout is an opaque, medium toned, warm rosy shade with a hint of coral.

Texture and application: this is a very creamy lipstick and it takes no effort at all to swipe a decent amount of pigment on the lips. Very easy to apply. Being so creamy, it’s comfortable to wear on dry and chapped lips.

Pigmentation and finish: it is decently pigmented in one pass. I can use a lighter hand if I want a sheerer finish, but I can have it at full opacity with just one (heavier) swipe. The finish has that creamy shine that is almost glossy.

Longevity: its downfall. This lasts an hour, if that. It fades evenly, there is no patchiness nor bleeding/feathering, but after an hour and a half it’s like “lipstick who? never met her”. You’ll need to keep reapplying throughout the day. Thankfully, it is a hydrating formula, so your lips will be in better shape by the end of the day.

Packaging and Other Info: the slim, skinny tube is marbled in a way that makes this look like tortoise shell. The material is that very hard plastic that almost feels like glass and is heavy and cool to the touch. It contains 2 grams (quite small for a full size, typically lipsticks are not less than 3 grams) and costs around 44€.

Final Thoughts: I enjoy it a lot, despite the longevity. It reminds me of MAC’s Lustre lipstick formula, which used to be my favourite: wonderful creaminess, but did not last a long cab ride. If you don’t mind reapplying when you actually get to the destination, it really is a lovely formula. Flattering on the lips and moisturising. I might get other shades.
