Victoria Beckham’s makeup line is one of the few influencer/celebrity brands (those seem to be sprouting all the time now) that I was intrigued enough to try out. Look and selection wise, it’s a very grown-up, polished and sophisticated line. You can take the Spice out of the Girl, but you can’t take the Posh.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Victoria Beckham Smoky Eye Brick in Tweed”
Every year, Clarins comes out with a limited edition bronzing compact for their summer collection. I haven’t tried any before, which is actually surprising because I’m a fan of Clarins face powders. 2021 was the year, I guess (and yes, we are all ignoring this was supposed to be a low buy year).Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Clarins Bronzing Compact Frozen Summer 2021 Collection”
I had a Sephora birthday gift card that I could use on only one product worth 30€ or less, so I went online to check what was available for 29,90€. RMS is new to Portuguese Sephora stores and the Buriti bronzer caught my eye. It’s not a new product by any means, but for some reason it’s getting some attention lately from the beauty community. Perfect for my gift card. Only thing is I wouldn’t get free shipping because I didn’t reach the 50€ minimum purchase.
Two bronzers and a foundation later, an order was placed. And here’s the review for the Buriti Bronzer.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer”
I’ve always been a loyal purchaser of stick foundations. They save me time in rushed mornings. Which are all of them. Because I wake up with just enough time to arrive only 5 minutes late. So a foundation that doesn’t require me to use an extra tool to apply (like a brush or sponge) goes at the top of the list of makeup I reach for in the 3 minutes I allocate to do my makeup.Continue reading “Battle of The Stick Foundations – Which one is the Best?”
I promised a review, it’s time to deliver it. Like I mentioned before, I wouldn’t really care if the quality wasn’t that good because the packaging is enough to make me happy. When it comes to makeup, I really can be that superficial. And Dolce & Gabbana might just be my trophy wife (it sure costs that much).Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Dolce & Gabbana Solar Glow: Ultra-Light Bronzing Powder in Sand, Illuminating Powder Duo in Peach Blossom”
Cruella was always my favourite Disney villain. First of all, she knows how to dress. Second of all she’s truly evil. I feel like any other Disney villain wickedness can be redeemed or explained away with past trauma or whatever. The Evil Queen couldn’t handle the fact that another woman was prettier than her, which can be seen as a consequence of a society that values women mainly for how they look. Scar couldn’t handle the fact that he could never be king, showing what a broken political system monarchies are, where the only thing that makes you a leader is being the first born of a special couple.
Cruella wants to kill puppies. To make a coat.
Come on, the b*tch is fabulous.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | MAC Cruella de Vil Collection: Cruella to Be Kind Palette, De Vil in the Details Lipstick”
Chantecaille’s limited edition collections are so well edited. They make up for the small range of products by having beautiful, well thought out packaging. The type you like to display. And the Spring/Summer Flower Power collection is no different.
In this collection the infamous Perfecting Blur Finishing Powder was re-released, to the delight of many. I have the version in last year’s packaging and might be reviewing it. What really intrigued me this year though was the blush. I’m a sucker for a nice blush. And man, was I suckered into this £47 oversized eyeshadow.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Chantecaille Flower Power Cheek Shade (Spring/Summer 2021 Collection)”
You know, sometimes you come across a product that is so good that’s it’s worth talking about, even if the brand is a little bit controversial.Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Avon The Big Gel Paint Pencil in Cobalt and Plumful”
Spring is coming. The days are longer, the sun is out. Pastels and light, soft colours are of the hour. And I want a peach of that.
Gimme them peach blushes. I want to have resting peach face.Continue reading “Top 5 | Best Peach Blushes (2021)”
Over the past few years, indie brands have been multiplying faster than rabbits – it’s that and celebrity beauty lines. Everybody wants to cash in on Rihanna’s idea. Indie brands, however have been changing the makeup game – multi chromes, unconventional shades – it’s so much more about filling the gap in the industry and less about selling to the masses – or at least, what the industry traditionally thinks is marketable to masses. In a nutshell, indie brands don’t care about the “enhancing your natural features” spiel, it’s all about artistry and self-expression. Fine by me, I love it all.
One of these brands that really caught my attention was Lethal Cosmetics, mainly because of two things:Continue reading “Review, Swatches | Lethal Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows”
