Review, Swatches | Gucci Satin Lipstick in 501 Constance Vermillon

I had to get one of these lipsticks exclusively for that vintage-looking packaging – and once again, I fell prey to an orange-red shade. I love this colour way too much.

Gucci Satin Lipstick in 501 Constance Vermillon

Texture and application: smooth, dense and creamy, not overly slippery. Very easy to apply and quite forgiving on dry lips for such a pigmented colour.

Pigmentation and finish: quite pigmented in one pass, but you can make the colour stronger with two layers. It layers well too – it does not get patchy nor blotchy. The finish is aptly named: satin is how I would describe it.

Longevity: after two hours, it’s slightly faded (more on the inner part of the lip than anything), but there is no need to reapply. After three hours the shine was mostly gone but there was still a lot of colour left. After 4 hours, there was just a red stain left and it was time to reapply. It does not bleed nor feather, and it does not dry out the lips.

Packaging and Other Info: gorgeous vintage looking, metallic packaging that contains 3,4 grams (normal full size amount) and costs around 42€. It has that vintage lipstick scent, that classic smell from your mother or grandmother 90’s lipsticks. I like it.

Final Thoughts: it’s lovely. Very expensive, but the quality is there and the packaging makes it worth it.
