Review, Swatches | 3ina The Color Pen Eyeliner in 575

I don’t think I ever purposefully bought anything from 3ina (pronounced mina, fyi, ’cause I know that’s been bothering you if you didn’t know). Everything I have I got in advent calendars or subscription boxes. But there hasn’t been a product yet that I haven’t liked.

The Color Pen Eyeliner from 3ina is a felt tip pen liquid liner that comes is an array of shades, and mine (575) is a matte, neutral, medium to dark brown.

Texture and Application: this slides on the lid with impressive ease. The felt tip is flexible and does not hurt, and it’s long enough that allows for some control of the line thickness – it feels like a brush tip applicator. I only had an issue when attempting to apply a second layer once that first layer is dry, it’s hard to deposit more colour on top without causing the product to start to flake off (but it can be done, if I’m careful enough).

Pigmentation: this is a bit sheer, but not patchy or uneven. With a single layer the colour looks lighter because of that sheerness, but going over the line a couple of times (preferably while still wet) will darken it. You can tell the difference in the swatches: the thicker lines have a few passes of the pen liner and are darker.

Longevity: this lasted for as long as I decided to wear it (over 10 hours) without fading or flaking off. I don’t even need to use an eyeshadow primer. And yet, this is incredibly easy to remove, a bit of micellar water takes it right off and there is no stain left behind.

Packaging & Other Info: the cap on the pen does not feel totally secure, but it hasn’t ever come off on my makeup bag, so I guess it’s fine. The pen contains 1 ml and costs around 14€.

Final Thoughts: I really like it, so much so that I’m pondering getting other shades (the yellow is calling my name, specially after the Moira disaster). It’s easy to apply and performs well, what’s not to like?
