Wet n Wid eyeshadows can be hit or miss, and for the price they charge we can’t be too disappointed about that – I’ve experienced quite the mix of both throughout the years, so when I get a hit on my hands I want to take note of if and credit them properly.
Texture: the mattes are soft and creamy to the touch, and also a bit powdery, but I noticed no fallout. The shimmers feel a bit dry and less creamy, but they are still soft enough. Shade 10 (bottom right shade) is a bit gritty.
Application: all of the mattes are easy to apply and blend out and into each other quite well. The shimmers are more hit or miss: shade number 2 and 3 can be a bit patchy, you are better off packing the colour instead of swiping/blending. The shimmers also benefit from being applied with a finger instead of a brush – they are more opaque and the shimmer is more intense when using a finger.
Pigmentation: the mattes are decently pigmented, specially the darker shades. Even the ones that aren’t super opaque can be easily built up. The shimmers are not as opaque but can be built up, although shade 3 needs a bit of work to get to full opacity.
Longevity: with a primer, these last with no fading, creasing or migration until I decide to take them off. Without primer, they last around 8 hours before I start to see some fading, except for shade 3 that gets significantly more faded by that time. Clearly the under performer.
Packaging & Other Info: the palette contains 12 grams total, so 1.2 grams per pan, which is close to a full sized eyeshadow (typically around 1.5 grams). The packaging is light and quite compact, and the clasp feels very secure (with I find is atypical – but very welcome – for Wet n Wild). Costs about 7€.
Final Thoughts: I love it. The only downside is that it is not that versatile for a palette that contains 10 shades – all looks have that very warm, sunset-y vibe. Shade 3 was the only troublesome to work with, but nothing too bad. It’s definitely worth the price and great to travel with (light, small, and easy to replace if anything happens).
