Wet n Wid eyeshadows can be hit or miss, and for the price they charge we can’t be too disappointed about that – I’ve experienced quite the mix of both throughout the years, so when I get a hit on my hands I want to take note of if and credit them properly.
Review, Swatches | Moira Live In The Moment Shadow Palette
Following my recent Moira infatuation, I felt I needed to test and review their eyeshadow formulas. They have quite a few palettes that look stunning (have you seen the pastels?), but for my first try I decided to go with a smaller option with a safer (but not boring) colour story. So, the Live In The Moment palette it was.
Review, Swatches | NYX x Barbie The Movie Turn Up the Ken-ergy Palette
Out of every collaboration that came out for the Barbie movie, this is my favourite thing. NYX’s collection, overall, was very good, but this palette in particular, this little item, is the best thing of all. The colour story screams Barbie, the packaging looks like a toy, and the mini gloss keycharm brings me back to the nineties faster than a dial-up internet connection.
Review, Swatches | r.e.m Beauty Eyeshadow Palette in Gogo Boots
When I was looking for reviews before purchasing this palette, I could only find youtube videos where the reviewers were all using this palette for the first time. Unfortunately, none of them did a wear test. The r.e.m Beauty eyeshadow palette in Gogo Boots is just the type of thing that reminds us that first impressions are not sufficient reviews.
Review, Swatches | Makeup Atelier Paris 5 Eyeshadow Palette in Printemps
Whenever I travel somewhere, I make it a point to try and find local makeup brands to try out. Paris is home to many international beauty houses, but I wanted to find something more indie, less known – and I did. I went to a Makeup Atelier store (they also have a website). And I got, among other things, the Printemps eyeshadow palette to try.
Review, Swatches | Rare Beauty Give Yourself Grace Eyeshadow Palette
I’ve been wanting an excuse to try something for Rare Beauty, but I have too much makeup overall, plus I don’t mess with cream/liquid blushes (if only they released powders!). This year, however, they launched a palette that caught my eye. And here is the review.
Review, Swatches | Flower Knows Strawberry Rococo Eyeshadow Palette in 03 Blackcurrant Cold Brew
How beautiful are these pans? Flower Knows sometimes walks that fine line between elaborately feminine and childishly tacky, but these jewel shaped pans are just dreamy. The Strawberry Rococo palettes have some really interesting colour stories, but I heard rave reviews about the shimmery eyeshadow in the Blackcurrant Cold Brew palette, so that’s the one I got.
Review, Swatches | Tarte Gilded Glamour Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Wardrobe
Tarte came out with this limited edition set for last year’s holiday season and it is still available and for sale on most places, so I feel a review is due. Or maybe you don’t care about what I think of it and are here just for the swatches. Totally legitimate. Whatever it is, I hope this is still useful to someone out there.
Review, Swatches | Roén Beauty Disco Eye & 75º Warm Eyeshadow Palette
It’s not easy to come up with something no one has done before. I’ve been a makeup fiend for 14 years, I’ve seen just about everything, so finding a new product that’s so different I can’t figure out where to put it in my storage (along with the glitters? eyeshadows? cream bases?) and actually performs well is something to be purchased until I exhaust the entire line celebrated.
Let me introduce you to Roén Beauty and their “glitter for grown-ups”.
Review, Swatches | Byredo 5 Colours Eyeshadow Palette in Syren
Byredo is a luxury fragrance brand that came out with a makeup line not too long ago. And unlike their generic perfume bottles, the makeup packaging does feel worthy of carrying that “luxury” tag. Their 5 pan eyeshadow palettes look like they are encased inside a golden oyster. That alone made me want to try them.
I love it when a brand gives me an excuse to spend money.
