Runway to My Way: Kenzo Striped Jeans

I always liked Kenzo, and it’s not my first item from them, but this piece in particular from their Spring/Summer 2023 collection didn’t really caught my interest until I saw it in person. First, because the pants on the runway is the male version, and secondly, because you can’t really see the detail on the runway show.

In store, it’s a totally different story.

The pants are black and white striped with an embroidered pink and burgundy flower sprinkled all throughout the fabric. There is a red button on the front and a red label on the back, and although both are small, they are quite eye-catching. Because of that I completed the look with red instead of pink.

I paired these pants with a black long sleeved top from H&M (I’m noticing I have a lot of basics from H&M) and a Jacquemus La Maille Neve cardigan on top. The official cardigan colour name is dark pink but I think it’s more red than anything. I also wore my Dora Teymur boots – and I’ve checked if Dora Teymur is still active but it seems like everything is sold out on their website and nothing new has popped up. Shame, I really loved the shoes. To finish off, I wore my new Lemur bag (review incoming).

Now, let’s talk sizing (which is probably the main reason you landed on this post). The Kenzo pants are a size 27, which can be converted for a size 36/38 in EU sizes, and although it’s a bit roomy around my hips, it’s not that much around my waist, so I would say it runs on the smaller size (I am a size 34/36, and usually leaning more on the 34 than on the 36). If you are between sizes, go up.

For the Jacquemus cardigan, I also got size EU 36, and again, I’m usually a size 34. This is made with a stretchy fabric so maybe that’s why I feel it so snug, but I find this size fits me perfectly, so this looks like it’s running on the smaller size as well.

Quite a designer-heavy look. That’s not the norm, by the way, but it does make one feel very fashion-forward.
