Top 5 | Luxury Makeup Products Worth the Splurge

Here I am with another Top Tuesday, coming for your wallets. This time around it’s about splurging. One of the most useful top 5 posts I’ve made, I believe, because if we are talking about luxury, it better be a well curated selection. So I chose the top luxury makeup products I own that perform amazingly and won’t leave you crying over spilled money.

By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder

Where has this been all my life? Never, ever, has anything made my pores disappear completely. And I’m working with some big holes on my cheeks. I swipe this across my face and it’s like performing magic. Pores. Gone.

This product is so finely milled that even without agitating it, powder floats up when you open up the lid like it’s smoke – it looks thinner than actual smoke, that’s how milled this is. I’ve never had anything like this. If you have oily skin, I suggest setting your oilier zones with a mattifying powder first, then applying this on top. Don’t worry, it won’t get powdery, no matter how much you apply (ever! how the hell do they do that??), and your makeup will look flawless the entire day.

Guerlain Météorites

Another finishing powder, but hey, luxury knows how to make them. I feel like a broken record when talking about these, though. I’ve raved about them, again and again and again. If you’ve read my posts before, you’re tired of hearing how I feel about Météorites (I know I am); in case you haven’t: I love them, they’re magic, they’re awesome, they make you look perfected and healthy.

Sisley Phyto-Touche Bronzer

This is one of those powder gelée formulas, but in bronzer form (which are harder to come by). Texture is smooth and almost balmy, easy to blend, and hard to overapply. The finish is very natural, with an added luminosity that just makes the skin look plump and healthy. The undertone is more yellow than red, which works great for my skintone. If the shade suits you, it’s definitely worth the money, specially if you’ve been scared of bronzers or have a heavy hand with makeup application.

Louboutin Tape à L’oeil Matte Nude Eye Colours

I’ve made an entire review on these liquid eyeshadows – but long story short (the review is really not that long, go take a look), they’re amazing. Long lasting, not patchy, smooth and blendable – and at £39 each, they lean on the “affordable” (pfff) side of luxury.

Pat McGrath Celestial Divinity Palette

I’m not sure if this is limited edition or not, but some retailers still have it available. If the colours appeal to you, get this. Seriously.

A little rant: I got very annoyed when I saw lots of reviews mentioning that this palette didn’t have any of the “special shades” from Pat McGrath (those shades are domed, baked instead of pressed, and are usually the utmost right four shades from her big mothership palettes) and therefore, this shouldn’t be your first PM palette because you won’t get the “full experience” without those special shades. What the f*** is so special about the special shades? I own them (I have the Divine Rose II palette). Wanna know what’s special? They’re shimmery. Big woop.

The Celestial Divinity palette is packed full of intense, gorgeous metallics, interesting duochromes, and mattes that blend by themselves. 18 powerful eyeshadows for 80€. Run, don’t walk. I have three Pat McGrath palettes so far and this is my favourite.

  1. That Pat Mcgrath palette has been on my list a while, shes so stunning 😍😍 such great value too!! 💗

  2. I´m a big fan of Guerlain Terracotta bronzers, I bought so many over the years, and I always wanted to try the Météorites, but Í always ended up buying the bronzer instead. I am definitely getting the Météorites this spring.

    1. The bronzers are also a great choice. I have a few from Guerlain too, the only reason they are not on this list is because I tend to (but shouldn’t!) neglect bronzer in general. But I think you won’t be disappointed in the Météorites 🙂

      1. I think I have never been disappointed with any Guerlain beauty products. The Métèorites is definitely in my wish list, I just need to make some “room” before I buy anymore makeup.
