Review | Sisley Paris Double Tenseur Primer

I’ve only just recently realised this is quite a controversial primer. The price point is what drives that, because it’s so expensive that it basically divides people into two groups: the ones that will never be happy with it because there’s only so much a primer can do and it will never be worth the price, and the ones that convince themselves that this does indeed do a world of difference because, for the cost, it must, right?

Well, I’m in neither group and therefore in the perfect position to give an unbiased opinion.

Top 5 | Best Light Pink Blushes (2022)

I had this post thought out and lined up to go for about 3 months. My idea was to post it before winter ended. Then this blog got neglected for a little while (pregnancy, covid, yadda yadda) and I’m rushing to post this while it’s still technically spring. So enjoy this list of pastel pink blushes to sport on your cheeks for the next two weeks before we get inundated by all the bronze and coral summer blush shades.

Day 6 of 12 Days of Xmas 2021: My Favourite Bronzers

This was the year of the bronzer for me. I got every single one on my wishlist and then some. It truly was a new found love, because bronzer is now part of my routine instead of something I used when I wanted to look more glam. Maybe it’s me, maybe it’s that bronzers are getting better (but I don’t own any bronzer from Maybelline, so it’s definitely not them).

Limitless by Sephora: Ticket Beauty Box and My Opinion of the Event

Limitless by Sephora was an online event prepared by Sephora Portugal that was supposed to happen the past 20th of June. You could get access to the event by buying a beauty box filled with goodies for 30€. When the boxes sold out, you could get the ticket for the event alone for 10€. Now, this was the first time something like this was organised by Sephora. Did I mention it was online?

You know what they say, life is what happens when bandwidth allows it.

My Wedding Makeup

Last year, before the pandemic derailed everything, I started a series called Makeup Log, where I posted my daily makeup looks in order to keep a record of different product combinations, so that I could find the perfect makeup look for my wedding day. Because I would be doing it myself.

With over a year of minimal makeup wear and a wedding date set to May, I should have started practicing around March. At least. But I’m a procrastinator first and a bride second, so two weeks before the date felt like enough time to me. Two days before was when I actually started.

From another (s)Century #1: Sisley Eau du Soir

Sisley Eau du Soir has an interesting story. Count Hubert d’Ornano created the scent as a gift for his wife, countess Isabelle d’Ornano, who after nine years of being it’s exclusive wearer, decided to release the fragrance to the public. That’s why their names are in the bottle.

Now if the “count” title didn’t tip you off, don’t go running yelling at your significant other about how they should give you better presents just yet. Hubert d’Ornano was the founder of Sisley Cosmetics, and the d’Ornanos are billionaires. That explains a lot. It’s the truest case of what to gift someone who has everything. Also might explain why the perfume actually smells expensive.

Shop & Tell: Massive Beauty Haul (Makeup, Skincare, Hair, Fragrance)

Do you remember this post? Yeah me neither.

In my defence, this is over 2 months’ worth of purchases. Since I’ve been pretending trying to cut back on my makeup and skincare purchases, I’ve really gotten into haircare and fragrance. A ridiculous transition, I know, since I was trying to save on beauty spending, but alas, it still happened, and here we are.

Top 5 | Luxury Makeup Products Worth the Splurge

Here I am with another Top Tuesday, coming for your wallets. This time around it’s about splurging. So I chose the top luxury makeup products I own that perform amazingly and won’t leave you crying over spilled money.

Review | Sisley Super Soin Tinted Sun Care SPF 30 (shade 1-Natural)

Is it a sunscreen? Is it a foundation? Most importantly, is it worth it?

I first heard about this product from Michele Wang, when she mentioned in a video that this was great as a foundation because the coverage was pretty good. She has dry skin and loves this, but she mentioned another beauty reviewer with oilier skin also loved it, so it seems to be a product that adapts well to multiple skin types. This sparked my curiosity and stayed in the back of my mind, because my wallet wouldn’t allow it to go to the back of my drawer.
