Review, Swatches | Flower Knows Strawberry Rococo Cloud Lip Cream in S03 Caffè Mocha

This is the last of the products I got from my first Flower Knows purchase, and it is one more of their bestsellers from the Strawberry Rococo collection: the Cloud Lip Creams. I can see why they are a bestseller, and it’s not just the packaging.

The colour is a very yellow based, medium toned brown. It’s so yellow based that it looks almost like a dark, rusty orange. I love the shade, it’s very flattering on my very yellow complexion (sorry for the blurry lip swatch, it is a phone photo).

Texture and application: this lip cream has a very silicone like texture, and it’s incredibly balmy. It’s definitely a lipstick, not a gloss – it feels and spreads like a lipstick. But it’s the farthest thing from a traditional liquid lipstick (that starts out liquid and dries down to a totally matte, smear-proof finish). This lip cream does not dry down, it stays as creamy as when first applied, and for something that is matte, it feels comfortable and dare I say hydrating on the lips. The doe foot applicator makes it very easy to apply the lip cream, and the pointy tip is useful to sharpen the edges.

Pigmentation and finish: the lip cream is fully opaque in one swipe, although you can sheer it out if you apply just a little bit. In fact, it’s not hard to replicate the gradient effect you see on Flower Knows’ website page for these lip creams. The finish is what I would call a natural matte – a matte that looks like lips in their natural form, not too extreme or flat.

Longevity: the lipstick is not transfer proof, in fact, I would say it is more transferable than a typical matte bullet lipstick. It started to fade slightly at the 2 hour mark but it was still pretty strong after 3 hours. It got very faded on the inner rim of the lips after almost 5 hours, and it needed reapplication at this point.

Packaging and other info: the packaging, besides stunning, is quite substancial. It’s made of that hard plastic that resembles glass. Well made and display worthy. Although it is quite tall, it only contains 3,5ml of product. Price is 18,61€.

Final Thoughts: One of the best products from Flower Knows. I’m not big into lip products, and I only got this because it was part of a deal, but it’s the thing from the Flower Knows haul that I use the most. I love how comfortable this is, and the natural matte finish is hard to find (and quite flattering!). A lovely surprise, absolutely recommend it.
