My Wedding Scent: Prada Infusion D’Amande Review

My Wedding Scent: Prada Infusion D’Amande Review

Previously, in my post about my giant beauty haul, I mentioned I was on a hunt to find the ideal fragrance to wear on my wedding day. Avon’s Sweet Honesty and Guerlain’s L’Instant Magic were two of my favourite scents of all time, but both are no longer available, or at least they no longer sell them in Portugal.

You can tell by those two perfumes that I like powdery, clean and airy scents. So my hunt began. I ended up settling on Prada’s Infusion d’Amande, which even though it’s quite different from those previously mentioned, it still part of the light and powdery scent family, and it had as it’s star note something that’s very close to my heart: almonds.

Massive Beauty Haul (Makeup, Skincare, Hair, Fragrance)

Massive Beauty Haul (Makeup, Skincare, Hair, Fragrance)

Do you remember this post? Yeah me neither.

In my defence, this is over 2 months’ worth of purchases. Since I’ve been pretending trying to cut back on my makeup and skincare purchases, I’ve really gotten into haircare and fragrance. A ridiculous transition, I know, since I was trying to save on beauty spending, but alas, it still happened, and here we are.

Beauty Empties – Hair, Bath and Body Products

Beauty Empties – Hair, Bath and Body Products

This post is really, really overdue. The plastic of these empty containers is about to deteriorate, that’s how long overdue this post is. I keep holding on to all of these empty containers until I write this damn post, and I’m already a shopaholic, I don’t need to keep trash around to make me feel even more of a hoarder.

Here I am with another Top Tuesday, coming for your wallets. This time around it’s about splurging. So I chose the top luxury makeup products I own that perform amazingly and won’t leave you crying over spilled money.

1 Year of LookFantastic Beauty Boxes: Worth it or Wasteful?

1 Year of LookFantastic Beauty Boxes: Worth it or Wasteful?

This March I received my 12th LookFantastic beauty box. Since this beauty box has a subscription plan that goes up to 12 months, I wanted to make a retrospective analysis of what I have received over the past year, so in case anyone is considering that subscription they might more or less know what to expect.

Did I find any new holy grails? Was there a lot of brand repetition? How’s the proportion of skin care vs makeup? How many products were just crap? How many full sizes?

Look no further, here are the stats:

Review | GLAMCOR Riki Skinny Vanity Mirror

Review | GLAMCOR Riki Skinny Vanity Mirror

Back in February I mentioned a purchase I made in order to receive the Cult Beauty goody bag. It had to be over £170, so it was the perfect time to get something I’ve been eyeing for a long time but never bit the bullet: a makeup mirror. Sounds underwhelming, but a lot of fellow makeup addicts mention that a good quality mirror really makes a difference. So I bought one, hoping to find out what is it that I haven’t been able to see properly yet.

Short answer? Pores.

Brand Review | Ecooking (day cream, eye cream, vitamin C serum, neck cream, multi balm, foot cream)

Brand Review | Ecooking (day cream, eye cream, vitamin C serum, neck cream, multi balm, foot cream)

Ecooking is a Danish brand created by an Tina Søgaard, who was already working in the beauty industry before she started creating these products in her kitchen, bringing in raw ingredients from the laboratories she worked on (hence the name). These products have developed into an environmentally conscious, “clean” skincare brand. Uh oh.

Review, Swatches | Lethal Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows

Review, Swatches | Lethal Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows

Over the past few years, indie brands have been multiplying faster than rabbits – it’s that and celebrity beauty lines. Everybody wants to cash in on Rihanna’s idea. Indie brands, however have been changing the makeup game – multi chromes, unconventional shades – it’s so much more about filling the gap in the industry and less about selling to the masses – or at least, what the industry traditionally thinks is marketable to masses. In a nutshell, indie brands don’t care about the “enhancing your natural features” spiel, it’s all about artistry and self-expression. Fine by me, I love it all.

One of these brands that really caught my attention was Lethal Cosmetics, mainly because of two things:
