Kiko Tuscan Sunshine Blushes: 01 Florence Dreams and 02 Tuscan Iris (review, swatches)

Kiko is currently having a sale on their website and these blushes are 50% off. Plus, even if they get out of stock sometimes they come back – I bought the Tuscan Iris shade two months ago when the collection released and Florence Dreams (the lightest one) was sold out, and now it’s back in stock and for half price.

By Terry Brightening CC Palette – Sunny Flash (review, swatches)

Is it just me or does every summer makeup collection this year has had this metallic, rose gold/millennial pink packaging? Not a complaint, just an observation. The By Terry packaging knocks it out of the park and I confess that was the main reason I felt compelled to get this palette.

Guerlain Summer 2020 – Brazilian Fizz Météorites and Pearl Highlighter palette (review, swatches)

I’ve been a fan of Guerlain Météorites for many years, and have considered collecting them in the past – and then I snap back to reality because I’m not that kind of rich (or any kind). Regardless, every once in a while there’s a limited edition of the Météorites that grabs my intention both because of the colour and the packaging, and this was one of those times.

15 (politically incorrect) Lessons I Learned in 30 Years of Life

1. The fact that forgiveness is the key to happiness doesn’t mean revenge doesn’t feel good.

2. No matter how anti-piracy you are, you’ll never pay for WinRar.

3. You’ll never know what tomorrow will bring, but try to guess.

My wedding dress was taken hostage – part two.

In case you haven’t read the first part of this story, I’ll start with the same disclaimer: this is not a joke. This actually happened to me.

If you haven’t, go read that first post. It’s important for context and I’m 100% sure that you will laugh at my misery. It’s ok. I would if I was you.

My wedding dress was taken hostage.

This isn’t a joke. It was March 14th 2020, my wedding was supposed to be in 2 months, we were living a f*cking full fledged pandemic, I was starting a post graduate program along with a new full time job, so I needed something to provide me with the stress I was clearly lacking. I guess a missing wedding dress would do it.

I’m not a cheap bride. I wasn’t looking for a deal. I got my dress at a respectable, well rated store. Well. That store was sold at the end of last year. And the new owner is, for the lack of a better word, hum, ratchet.

New Bags on the Block: Ralph Lauren, Kenzo & Ganni

Did you get through sale season unscathed? If you did, lie to me. Hide the high horse if you’re a role model of self control. ‘Cause I’m not. Neigh, I’m not.

It wasn’t just makeup that I caved in to, oh no. If someone was to make a chart about my bag purchase rate over the past year, it would be a consistent line until about two months ago, where it would grow more exponentially than the coronavirus crash to zero because I would start running with all my new bags under my arms before they could start counting them.

Makeup Log – 4th week: in which the goddamn virus cuts this project short.

Makeup Log is a series where I keep a record of the makeup looks I tried during the work week, the combinations of products I used and how they work out for me in an attempt to find the perfect makeup look for my wedding day. Because I’m crazy and I’ll be doing my own makeup.

I’ve been in a streak of bad luck. I don’t mean the coronavirus, which actually is putting the entire wedding party at risk – but that motherf*cker is everybody’s streak of bad luck, I’m aware. It’s just everything else around me that just. doesn’t. work.

Makeup Log – 3rd week: in which I gotta get my life together.

Makeup Log is a series where I keep a record of the makeup looks I tried during the work week, the combinations of products I used and how they work out for me in an attempt to find the perfect makeup look for my wedding day. Because I’m crazy and I’ll be doing my own makeup.

For the first half of the week I didn’t have time to do an eye look. For the second half I did but I forgot to take pictures right after and ended up only photographing later in the day at work with sh*tty lighting. Seriously, I gotta get back on track. It’s time to feel motivated again.
