Pinãta Chic: Colourful is the New Black

Every time I look at this jacket, I think of my mom. She hates it. I bought heavily discounted and she said she could tell. Here’s the thing, I really like it. I love my colorful, ribboned, pinãta-looking jacket. And I really need to wear it more.

I haven’t shown this amount of leg in over 2 years. Getting back to my regular weight feels almost like coming home: it’s familiar, reliable, comfortable. I know what size I fit in and what looks good on me. My body shape is slightly different post-baby (less of a waist and my booty does not defy gravity like it used to anymore), but I can still fit in most of my clothes and god, how I missed wearing them.

I’m wearing a basic black tank top from H&M, some faux-leather black shorts with a little flower embroidery from Lanidor (a portuguese clothing brand) and the piñata jacket is from Uterqüe, a brand within the Inditex group that seized to exist on its own and is now part of Massimo Dutti (having being relabelled to Massimo Dutti Studio).

I paired this with my United Nude black Eamz Tech II sandals and my new Furla bright green Portagioia bag. This nearly-radioactive shade of green is not really my favourite, but I’ve noticed it goes well with so many other colours that I found myself missing something in this colour in my bag collection.

An end of summer, dinner date, “back-to-me” outfit.
