Doll-icious Shoes: 3 Barbie Style Pink Heels

The new Barbie movie (haven’t seen yet, but about to) has opened up the nostalgia flood gates and we’ve been inundated by a fierce comeback of the Barbie aesthetic – and I’m. Here. For. IT!

I’m a nineties kid. I’m a girly-girl. I’m makeup and shoe obsessed. I became an engineer and a home owner before I became a bride or a mother. B*tch, I’m definitely a Barbie girl.

Barbie was my favourite toy to play with growing up, so it’s only natural that I happen to have three very Barbie-esque pairs of shoes in my closet. Here are my suggestions in case you are looking for some footwear that would make Barbie drool.

Camper Kiara Pink Boots

I no longer see it on Camper’s website, but they are still available through Asos (not affiliated). Honestly, this is not the only pair from Camper that is very Barbie-looking – they have multiple bright pink shoes that’ll fit the bill, because they are entirely pink.

A lot of colourful shoes on the market usually have a black or brown sole and a black/silver zipper or clasp, which breaks the colour-blocking look and deviates from the Barbie doll aesthetic. The trick to toy-ish looking shoes is to have them entirely one colour (in this case, pink), sole, zipper and all. Camper has a few good options.

Sleeper Pom Kitten Heel Mules with Feathers in Pink

Sleeper (not affiliated) is a brand I only recently found out about. The brand clearly has a “bedroom chic” aesthetic, which fits Barbie loungewear to a tee. In their Barbiecore edit you can find this pair of feathery slippers (that is currently on sale!) that are meant to be used around the house and out on the street – and of those two I only do the latter, because as much as I love heels, I like flats with my pyjamas.

Honestly, even though they are a kitten heel, they are not the most comfortable to wear. They are too cute for me to have any regrets though, I still love them.

Moschino Pink Flower Pumps

These shoes came out for the 2020/2021 Moschino Fall collection and I’ve talked about them extensively here and worn them here. These are no longer available. However, Moschino is THE brand that treads that fine line between camp and avant garde so elegantly, while being childlike at the same time, but in an artistic way rather than a childish one. This to say, whichever pink pair of heels you can find from Moschino, it’ll likely be a pair that would make Barbie proud.
