Review, Swatches | Wet n Wild ColorIcon Blush in Nudist Society

I’ve had too many expensive blush reviews in a row, it’s time to switch gears. One can definitely get blushed up on a budget. Looking at all the blushes I own, the most inexpensive (that is still available) is Wet n Wild’s ColorIcon Blush in Nudist Society, a 3,99€ option that deserves a bit of spotlight in this blog.

Regardless of the name, Nudist Society is not a nude blush at all – it’s a light coral with a luminous sheen and a few specks of gold shimmer that are barely noticeable on the skin. On the back of my hand, in the photo below, there is a heavy finger swatch on the left, and a blended out swatch on the right. No shimmer is visible.

Texture and Application: the blush is quite soft and smooth, and a bit powdery but not to a point that is bothersome. Since this is not too firmly pressed, a soft and/or flimsier brush is enough to pick up and apply a decent amount of colour. It is blendable enough – not the most effortless, but not particularly difficult to diffuse on the skin either.

Pigmentation: it’s very pigmented. I recommend using a light hand, even though this is a lighter toned blush – it can get quite intense pretty easily, and blending out a heavy application can only help you so much.

Longevity: lasted amazingly well, on par with some of my most expensive blushes: after 11 hours it was still very much visible, with minimal fading around the edges (I did a wear test over a powdered foundation, but with no setting spray).

Packaging & Other Info: the pan is nice and wide, so any type of brush can fit in it. The compact is light, and the lid does not feel super secure. It is a quite slim compact and does not take up too much space, making it good to travel with. This contains 6 grams of product and full price is, like I mentioned before, 3,99€.

Final Thoughts: I love it. It’s what we call, in portuguese, a 3B: Bom, Bonito, Barato, which translates to Good, Pretty, Cheap. The colour is gorgeous, it is easy enough to apply and the blush looks good throughout the day. This goes to show that luxury, in makeup, is an non-essential extravagance (one that I partake in a lot, so no judgement, but still). Absolutely recommend this.
