There was a lot. This took way to much time to write. And this is just makeup that came out during 2022, not necessarily everything I bought throughout the year. I’m going to have to either control my spending or never do one of these posts again and we both know I’m not doing the first so you better enjoy it so I hope my efforts were not in vain and that this is useful or at least entertaining to you, my reader.
Here we are, Christmas Eve, and the 12 Days of Christmas finale!! I have to confess, this was a daunting task. A post everyday for 12 days in a row talking about so many favourites was really tiring. I wrote the words “smooth”, “pigmented” and “long lasting” so many times that they’ve lost all meaning. But I’ve pushed through and this project is now fully birthed. Just in time for the most famous birthday of them all.
This post will contain the best makeup products that I’ve tried and have come out in 2021 (limited edition or not).
We’re getting close to the finish line, people. This post is all about lips, in all its categories: lipstick, lip liner and lipgloss. Again, I’m mentioning formulas as favourites, not specific colours, because that would be too difficult and I don’t need the stress.
Now here’s a category I’ve been exploring a lot this year. I remember a time when if a cream eyeshadow came out that wouldn’t crease, it would be instantly hyped because it was such a rare event. Now we have them in all colours, finishes and formats. This post will be about 10 different formulas, and not specific shades, because I couldn’t be bothered to just select a colour for each.
Yes, I have nine favourite powders. I was trying to find the perfect powder for my wedding day and ended up collecting a few favourites that are ideal for multiple different situations. Powder is the last step for complexion makeup, so it’s what makes or breaks how your skin looks, and I guess that’s why I ended up trying so many. Let’s powder up, buttercup.
When it comes to makeup, eyeshadow palettes is where the fun is at. Multichromes, foiled metallics, pastel mattes, glitters – the variety is endless. Where else, apart from my eyes, would I be able to wear radioactive green? I have a bit of everything in my top favourites, and I didn’t even do it on purpose.
Blush is my kryptonite. I own more single blushes than eyeshadow palettes. As you can expect, I can’t reasonably choose just 7 different singular blushes, so I’m bringing you my seven blush formulas that are currently available and not limited edition.
This was the year of the bronzer for me. I got every single one on my wishlist and then some. It truly was a new found love, because bronzer is now part of my routine instead of something I used when I wanted to look more glam. Maybe it’s me, maybe it’s that bronzers are getting better (but I don’t own any bronzer from Maybelline, so it’s definitely not them).
Fot the past two years I have been trying and experimenting with a lot of new foundations, in the quest to find the holy grail to use on my wedding day. I found it, plus a few other ones on the way.
Time to shine. Highlighters’ popularity keeps going strong, doesn’t it? They’re not my kryptonite, and yet I find myself with quite a sizeable amount to choose from. Here I selected the four that give me the biggest joy to use.
