La Mer has never been able to entice me when it comes to skincare, but from reviews I’ve seen, the makeup is a whole nother ball park. Their Soft Fluid Longwear foundation has been loved by La Mer obsessed and critics alike, so I feel like I had to give my two cynic cents as well.
Review, Swatches, Comparison | Clarins Milky Boost Capsules in shade 03
The Clarins Milky Boost foundations review post is one of my most read posts on this blog. So when Clarins decided to add another foundation to this line, I needed to try it, to satisfy my own curiosity and to give the unique perspective of comparing the three versions: the original Milky Boost, the Milky Boost Cream and the Milky Boost Capsules.
Review, Swatches, Comparison | Clarins Milky Boost and Milky Boost Cream
Clarins is a makeup brand that tends to stay under the hype radar, but for some reason it’s very appealing to me. I don’t know if it’s because they market their makeup as very skincare conscious, or if it’s because of their very fresh and young aesthetic. Might be the later giving that I’ve been a 23 year old girl for the past 8 years. Either way, their Milky Boost foundations really caught my attention and I decided to try them both.
Review, Swatches | KIKO Dolce Diva Powder Foundation SPF 50 in 03 Light Beige
It’s been a while since I last tried KIKO’s base makeup. I’m not big on second chances, and my previous experience was not amazing, but KIKO seems to have matured in that department, so why not? I decided to let it show me if it truly changed, and so I set up a date with their Dolce Diva Powder Foundation in the shade Light Beige.
Day 5 of 12 Days of Xmas 2021: My Favourite Foundations
Fot the past two years I have been trying and experimenting with a lot of new foundations, in the quest to find the holy grail to use on my wedding day. I found it, plus a few other ones on the way.
Battle of The Stick Foundations – Which one is the Best?
I’ve always been a loyal purchaser of stick foundations. They save me time in rushed mornings. Which are all of them. Because I wake up with just enough time to arrive only 5 minutes late. So a foundation that doesn’t require me to use an extra tool to apply (like a brush or sponge) goes at the top of the list of makeup I reach for in the 3 minutes I allocate to do my makeup.
Review | Sisley Super Soin Tinted Sun Care SPF 30 (shade 1-Natural)
Is it a sunscreen? Is it a foundation? Most importantly, is it worth it?
I first heard about this product from Michele Wang, when she mentioned in a video that this was great as a foundation because the coverage was pretty good. She has dry skin and loves this, but she mentioned another beauty reviewer with oilier skin also loved it, so it seems to be a product that adapts well to multiple skin types. This sparked my curiosity and stayed in the back of my mind, because my wallet wouldn’t allow it to go to the back of my drawer.
Selfridges Beauty Sales Haul – Ltd. edition MAC, Huda Beauty, It Cosmetics
I saw Selfridges’ sales being announced somewhere about a month ago and decided to take a peek. Just a peek. Multiple orders later, I give you this (surprisingly unsponsored) post.
Makeup Empties – The Good, The Bad and The Tossed
I’ve mentioned before I don’t believe in declutters – I have a more medieval approach towards my makeup products: I keep them to serve as penitence for wasted money and to discourage myself from wasting more. So the only way anything leaves my makeup collection is either by getting used up or unmistakably turning bad.
So let’s see what products have managed to leave my Alcatraz of a vanity.
Summer Makeup Favourites (2020)
Well, I’m still working from home, and I can’t really go anywhere without constantly giving my nose, mouth and chin a mini-sauna, courtesy of a surgical mask, so I’ve become less and less interested in outfits and clothes, and more and more into makeup. I can still look cute in my Zoom meetings, full glam on the face and pyjamas on my legs.
