I’ve tried the loose version of one of Karla Cosmetics Multichrome eyeshadows before, but I don’t really like to mess with loose powders, so I decided to get pressed versions next time. Well, that backfired on me, didn’t it? This is incredibly fragile and prone to breaking. But at least the shades are gorgeous.
Review, Swatches | Moira Lucent Cream Shadows in 17 Nimbus, 19 Vega, 21 Rigel, 22 Stella
The Moira Lucent Cream Shadows are cream-to-powder eyeshadows with a lot of shine and shimmer/micro glitter that can look almost wet when worn over a dark base.
Review, Swatches | Moira Live In The Moment Shadow Palette
Following my recent Moira infatuation, I felt I needed to test and review their eyeshadow formulas. They have quite a few palettes that look stunning (have you seen the pastels?), but for my first try I decided to go with a smaller option with a safer (but not boring) colour story. So, the Live In The Moment palette it was.
Review, Swatches | r.e.m Beauty Eyeshadow Palette in Gogo Boots
When I was looking for reviews before purchasing this palette, I could only find youtube videos where the reviewers were all using this palette for the first time. Unfortunately, none of them did a wear test. The r.e.m Beauty eyeshadow palette in Gogo Boots is just the type of thing that reminds us that first impressions are not sufficient reviews.
Review, Swatches | Tommy G Special Eyeshadows in 1020, 1030 and 1041
A while back I made a post about all the beauty shopping I did on my honeymoon trip to Santorini. On that haul, there were some Tommy G eyeshadows that I meant to review. And it only took me more than a year to write that review.
At least these are all still available.
Review, Swatches | Krash Kosmetics Khamaleon Duochrome Pressed Pigments (Detallito, No More Dates, Saca la Cartera, Ponlo a Su Cuenta)
It’s not usual to see a brand undersell their products. Krash Kosmetics needs to upgrade their marketing: these are not duochromes, these are multichromes. Inexpensive multichromes. It’s the makeup equivalent of finding a forgotten 5$ bill in the pocket of some old jeans.
Review, Swatches | SUQQU 102 Blush Palette & Tone Touch Eyeshadow in 109 Youshizuku
I haven’t talked about blushes in the last three posts. That’s too long for me. So long that I needed to comeback with a blush palette, not just a single blush.
Seriously, I don’t have a problem.
This isn’t a cry for help.
Oh, and there is an eyeshadow in this review too. Came in the same kit as the palette.
Review, Swatches | MAC 2021 Hypnotizing Holiday Collection – Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadows in Ho Ho Hocus, Prrrplexing, Calling Your Bluff
I told I wasn’t done with this collection. After falling in love with the Shadeshifter eyeshadow in Right Before Your Eyes, I was looking for an excuse to get the remaining shadows that piqued my interest, and the Black Friday sale was the perfect opportunity.
Day 12 of 12 Days of Xmas 2021: My Favourite Products From 2021
Here we are, Christmas Eve, and the 12 Days of Christmas finale!! I have to confess, this was a daunting task. A post everyday for 12 days in a row talking about so many favourites was really tiring. I wrote the words “smooth”, “pigmented” and “long lasting” so many times that they’ve lost all meaning. But I’ve pushed through and this project is now fully birthed. Just in time for the most famous birthday of them all.
This post will contain the best makeup products that I’ve tried and have come out in 2021 (limited edition or not).
Top 5 | Best Products from Illamasqua (2021)
Illamasqua was a brand that called out to the atypical and the artistic, and had secured an underground, irreverent space in the makeup world. However, since they were acquired by the Hut Group, they took a turn into the more wearable and the mainstream, which made Illamasqua loose a lot of its identity (and, I suspect, cult following) which is a shame. Still, that doesn’t mean that they stopped doing what they did well. Yes, the colour ranges are getting more basic (just look at the blushes) but there are still some OGs that were great then and are great now – and guess what, some of the newer releases are pretty good too.
