Avon products can be hit or miss, but some of the greatest hits really knock it out of the park. I’m not (nor have I ever been) an Avon consultant (nor do I have anyone to direct you to), but I’ve tried my share of Avon products and the Anew line seems to be consistently good, so when I saw they had a retinol specific serum, I had to try it.
There are a lot of hits and misses with Avon products in general, but damn, they can nail down a scent. I’ve mentioned before that Avon used to make my favourite scent of all time, Sweet Honesty, and finding a dupe for that has been quite an (unsuccessful) enterprise. In the meanwhile, I’ve found something different, but very good, and very unique in the realm of modern scents.
We’re getting close to the finish line, people. This post is all about lips, in all its categories: lipstick, lip liner and lipgloss. Again, I’m mentioning formulas as favourites, not specific colours, because that would be too difficult and I don’t need the stress.
Now here’s a category I’ve been exploring a lot this year. I remember a time when if a cream eyeshadow came out that wouldn’t crease, it would be instantly hyped because it was such a rare event. Now we have them in all colours, finishes and formats. This post will be about 10 different formulas, and not specific shades, because I couldn’t be bothered to just select a colour for each.
Last year, before the pandemic derailed everything, I started a series called Makeup Log, where I posted my daily makeup looks in order to keep a record of different product combinations, so that I could find the perfect makeup look for my wedding day. Because I would be doing it myself.
With over a year of minimal makeup wear and a wedding date set to May, I should have started practicing around March. At least. But I’m a procrastinator first and a bride second, so two weeks before the date felt like enough time to me. Two days before was when I actually started.
You know, sometimes you come across a product that is so good that’s it’s worth talking about, even if the brand is a little bit controversial.
