The Moschino Fall 2020/2021 collection was jaw dropping and mouth watering. A world where Marie Antoinette meets Barbie and God is a drag queen with a sweet tooth. Makes no sense? Sure. Sounds absolutely fabulous? Undoubtedly.
I’m so happy to have a piece of that cake in my closet.
All hail my biggest purchase of 2020. Screw the 30th birthday, getting this bag was what made me feel all grown up. Months and months of working from home culminated into purchasing a bag that’s ideal for the office. One can wish for better times.
I’ve referenced in the past that one day, a Danse Lente bag would be mine. After a nearly year-long courtship and a lot of intense sale scouting, a mini Johnny bucket bag was mine. Danse Lente decided to launch the Johnny bucket bags in this pastel yellow/subdued coral colour combination for Spring/Summer 2020, and it was a great choice for warmer weather – it’s feminine, it’s classic, it reminds me of sorbet. It was meant to be.
Did you get through sale season unscathed? If you did, lie to me. Hide the high horse if you’re a role model of self control. ‘Cause I’m not. Neigh, I’m not.
It wasn’t just makeup that I caved in to, oh no. If someone was to make a chart about my bag purchase rate over the past year, it would be a consistent line until about two months ago, where it would grow more exponentially than the coronavirus crash to zero because I would start running with all my new bags under my arms before they could start counting them.
…because my life is so hard.
First world problems aside, I hope I’ve caught your attention with the overdramatic tittle, because theses pieces are actually something that you don’t see often listed in articles about building a minimalist/capsule/insert_basic_word_here wardrobe.
See what I did there? The Burberry check pattern is probably one of the most recognisable ever – and very on par with the brand itself, it stands the test of time, being that it was registered as a trademark 99 years ago.
This is a designer that I consider carries a genuinely classic collection – yes, because many pieces that get dubbed as “timeless” have a fashion life of about 10 years, but the Burberry trench coat is forever in style. This isn’t the time for a trench unboxing, unfortunately, my wallet is still unprepared for such, but I got myself the next best thing.

I feel like ranting, so indulge me.
I’ve been in Farfetch’s website lately to take advantage of their 30% extra of sale items, and obviously, I’ve browsed the shoe section. Since I tend to remove sneakers from my page – I always filter for mid and high heels – I had the hope feeling that the ugly shoe trend might be gone by now. I mean, it’s been a year.
How naive of me.
If you didn’t know the song, now you know, your life is better now. And if you know what youtuber I’m referencing with that last sentence, give yourself a cookie. Go on. Blame the calories on me.
Given the tag line of this blog, it’s ironic that the first picture of this post is a display of sneakers. But these are so original and colourful that they made it. Still not for me, still sneakers, but I reckon they’re cute.
Like I mentioned before, one of these days I was exercising my regular dose of procrastination and fell down the shoe rabbit hole into the vegan world.
A lot of brands that currently make shoes without leather, using cheaper plastic as a replacement, employ an obvious marketing maneuver to label the material as “vegan-leather” when veganism has nothing to do with it. What pisses me off is not so much that they are trying to re-brand a cost reducing strategy as an ethical intention, it’s mainly because those materials don’t respect the vegan principle of protecting the environment.
