If I had 1000$ to spend on whatever I wanted, I would probably buy shoes – but Sephora doesn’t sell those, so makeup it is. I’ll limit myself to the portuguese Sephora website, and I’ll also stick with the 1000$, that is about 841 euros.
You’ll be surprised at the amount of stuff I would get.
Makeup Tag Week is a series of posts of my answers to popular makeup tags spanning one week, one tag a day. Why? ‘Cause whenever I see someone else do tags I end up wasting waaaaay too much time trying to answer them for myself, and I thought I would give a better end use to my procrastination excuse.
8 items. Yep. 8 unnecessary things for over 800 euros. Here they are:
I would get two eyeshadow palettes from Natasha Denona (115,90€ each). That’s over 25% of the budget right there. I would also like some Pat MacGrath eye palettes but currently Sephora in Portugal is not selling their Mothership palettes.
I’ll probably never get these, however. This is purely a scenario where I would inherit 840€ in the form of a Sephora gift card. I have way too many eyeshadows, and probably a dupe for each of these shades.
There have been some Sisley items on my wishlist as well. L’Orchidée blush (87,50€), has been on my wishlist for so long. And I need blush like I need a bullet in the head – actually, I need blush like I need new eyeshadow. (I might still get it though…)
The Sisley Blur Expert powder (75,50€) has been getting mixed reviews but I would take this chance to try it for myself. I would also try the absurdly expensive Anti-aging foundation (131,50€) because the very few reviews I’ve seen have been very positive. And last, the pièce de résistance, the Sisley Double Tenseur primer (148,50€) – stupidly pricey, but everybody loves it. It might be because it’s good, it might be because everyone is in denial that something so expensive couldn’t possibly be good. Either way, I would find out for myself.
The Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette (50,50€) is the perfect unnecessary addition to my collection. And last but not least, something that’s not a makeup product: Hermès L’Ambre des Merveilles Eau de Parfum (116,50€). Hermès perfumes smell very sensual, full and rich – and might as well, for the price.
This comes to a total of 841,80€. So close it looks on purpose – it wasn’t, surprisingly so. This is actually what is on my fantasy rich wishlist. I think this must be a sign. But I know it isn’t.
I need to save my wallet from myself.

Ooh, Sisley! The ultimate fantasy shopping brand!
I’d probably spend it all on Tatcha and Hourglass 😅
We have none of those here, otherwise they would make an appearance on this list! I would have to sacrifice a Natasha Denona palette though. Decisions, decisions
